Knowing exactly when to change a sacrificial anode can be a complicated task and if not done in time, can expose a boat's vulnerable parts to harmful corrosion.

We solve this problem!

Performance Metals saves boaters from guesswork and valuable equipment from damage with its patent pending Wear Indicator Anode, which reveals a colored dot as it corrodes.

Exclusive to Performance Metals, each Wear Indicator Anode has a colored plastic indicator embedded within it that appears on the surface when the anode wears to half its original size. By simply inspecting the anode for the dot, boaters can easily determine when to replace it.

The Wear Indicator Anodes are made of Navalloy™, which provides a greater potential difference for cathodic protection of shafts, trim tabs/rudders and hulls/strainers. The premium anodes are also available for Mercury and Volvo Outdrives because zinc anodes don't properly protect these aluminum drives. All anodes are manufactured from an ISO 9001: 2000 certified facility and meet military specification MIL-A-24779. Two and a half times lighter than Zinc, Navalloy™ provides better protection and is environmentally friendly.
